How Many Divers Are On A Boat?
Divers benefit at Stuart Cove's from both the size of our boats and the size of our fleet (see our fleet description above). When doing boat assignments in the morning and afternoons we operate according the following principal:
We start with the first boat we have. We fill it to our "recommended capacity". Once we reach the recommended capacity, we put the next boat into service. When the recommended capacity is reached, we put the next boat into service. This process is repeated until all boats are in service. At that point, we will then begin to add people to the boats until their maximum capacities are reached.
As you can see, compared to some smaller operations, divers at Stuart Cove's benefit by having a greater potential to travel on uncrowded boats compared to operations that can only offer 2 or 3 vessels.
We are the busiest on holidays, so that is when you can expect the heaviest loads. Weekends are busier than midweek, so expect more people on the boats then as well. If diving during midweek, you can expect the lightest boat loads - many times between 12 and 14 people per boat!
If you desire to do something special or are traveling with a small group and would like to have a boat to yourselves, please contact us for our Private Charter options. With a group of 6 divers many times it only adds $15-$25 per person to your cost in order to have your own boat!
